In Remembrance, Chris Spanos 1937—2013
"Though much is taken,much abides."
We mourn the passing of Chris Spanos on October 21, 2013.
We remember Chris as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and friend. His full life spanned 76 years and several continents where he served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Chris loved: his family, the freedom of democracy, and motorcycles.
Chris began riding motorcycles more than 60 years ago. He never had an incident, apart from the times he forgot to put the kickstand down. Chris was a founding member of the Rocky Mountain BMW Riders Club in 2004, later the Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Riders Club. He was active in the club, not only serving as club Vice President, assisting with club social events, but just about anything that needed doing. He will be forever known for the annual Time-Speed-Distance Rally.
I was priveledged, along with my wife Leslie, and many others to know Chris and Bridget, and to share so many things with them. Chris touched many lives and provided us all with a gift — the gift is the time spent with him, sharing with him some of the things he enjoyed most, especially riding a motorcycle. The smile always present. Always thinking about the ride.
Chris believed in helping others. Not only did he believe in this but he lived his life for this. He touched so many people in his 76 years, changed so many lives, and healed so many wounds, simply by being himself. I know that a multitude of people considered Chris their best friend.
Chris was a true "man of honor" and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Su memoria vivirá en nuestros corazones para siempre.
